Powder Horn has lots of fun planned for the summer!
Activities listings are always available at the office, or you can look over our activities calendar to stay up to date on what’s happening at Powder Horn!
Memorial Day (May 27 – 30)
- Kick off the summer camping season with us at Powder Horn Family Camping Resort. There is plenty of family fun to experience at our first holiday weekend of the summer! Don’t miss it! After you settle in on Friday, we have 3 on 3 basketball tournaments in two age groups followed by a live band for the whole family to enjoy in our function room. Don’t forget to stop by the horseshoe tournament at the pits!
- Wake yourself up Saturday with a full body workout with Bear Essentials Fitness. Let the kid’s enjoy a morning at our kid’s activity program from 9 AM to 12 PM. Please bring your child to fill out required paperwork if it’s their first time. After lunch, join us back at the activity field for bounce house and tie dye fun from 2 PM – 4 PM. If you have enough energy left, join us in the function room for our annual Steve Wronker’s Comedy Hypnosis; family friendly show.
- Sunday keeps this memorable weekend going with a morning Zumba class with Barb, all ages and levels welcome, followed by our kid’s activities program from 9 AM to 12 PM and the day ends with a family movie night in our function room, popcorn provided
Red White and Blue Family Festival (July 1 – 4)
- Keep the whole family entertained during the holiday weekend with basketball, horseshoe, and shuffleboard tournaments and live band entertainment. Did we mention that’s just Friday night?!
- Saturday is packed with our annual Red, White and Blue Family Festival: bring decorations and supplies to deck yourself and your bike out in patriotic pride. We will also have face painting, bounce house and lawn game fun before we head around the park for our Powder Horn Parade! The night ends with more holiday tournaments and the ever popular Steve Wronker’s Comedy Hypnosis; family friendly show.
- Start your Sunday with the kids. Enjoy red, white and blue tie-dye day at kid’s activities (bring your own t-shirt for free or buy a Powder Horn t-shirt for $5). End this epic weekend with a Family Movie Night, popcorn will be provided!
Wet n Wacky (July 15 – 17)
- It was so wacky last year, we decided to bring it back again! Stay with us for our annual Wet n’ Wacky Weekend.
- Friday Night is Karaoke night!
- On Saturday, come prepared with your wackiest outfit; We will have a 75 foot slip n’ slide, sprinklers, water balloon and water gun games and more! Come prepared to get soaked!
- Sunday is movie night; popcorn and lemonade provided!
Still conjuring! (July 29 – July 31)
- Not quite sure what we have planned yet we will keep you posted!
Halloween Weekend (August 12 – 14)
- The second weekend in August brings back our most popular weekend; Halloween. Come ready to decorate your site in the spookiest fashion, Powder Horn gift certificates are awarded to winners in different categories. We will also have a costume contest with winners in different age groups. Don’t forget the candy, you will have the chance to hand out candy to lucky trick-or-treaters. Remember to get your balloon from the Office at check-in or by Saturday afternoon so kids know to stop at your site.
- Friday night starts the scares off with Mad Science of Maine and their Spook-tacular show.
- If you’re brave enough, join us again Saturday afternoon for more spooky fun. Come in costume and sign-in during the first hour of event to be eligible to win prizes. Face painting will be available for the first hour to help anyone with last minute costume needs. Games and ghouls will commence until it’s time for costume judging followed by grab bag prizes and the start of trick-or-treating. Saturday night is for the Hall-o-teen dance ages 13-17, chaperoned by Powder Horn Staff.
- PLEASE NOTE: Staff will not be present for trick-or-treating, please make sure any children ages 12 & under are supervised by a parent or guardian. Only sites with balloons are participating in trick-or-treating, please do not disturb sites without balloons.
- Sunday ends the madness with a Halloween movie night; popcorn and candy corn provided!
Labor Day Weekend (September 2 – 5)
- Our last blast weekend is sure to have something for everyone. Full of horseshoes, shuffleboard and basketball tournaments.
- Saturday is our Family Carnival with a huge obstacle course, and carnival style games and fun. Steve Wronker’s Comedy Hypnosis; family friendly show finishes off the night.
- Sunday starts at 9 am with face painting for the little ones. Then our annual Parent/Child Day relay races, with three age groups and three events to participate and compete in!
Important Information on All Special Events
- During all special event weekends there will be no 9 AM to 12 PM kid’s activities on Saturday mornings as there are special planned events throughout the day. Please advise that these events are for the entire family and children 12 & under should be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. Staff is running activities and will not be responsible for child supervision during these times. Food and beverages are provided by Powder Horn Activities only while supplies last. In order to be eligible for prizes and grab bags, you must sign-in during the first half hour of the event.
- Please see the activity listing at office during your stay for up to date information and accurate times. Participants arriving after the first half hour may participate in events but are not guaranteed prizes. All events are free of charge excluding; outside food vendors, and the purchase of a Powder Horn t-shirts during tie dye events.
